About Us

Neighborhood stations, one department

Firdip started as a volunteer company and grew into a career department without leaving the neighborhoods that built it. Engines, a rescue company, and ambulances share the same shifts.

We measure the work in two ways: how fast a crew is at the door, and how many fires never start because an alarm was already in the right room.

  • Duty crews stay in the station, not on callback
  • Medics and firefighters ride the same shift calendar
  • Inspectors write in plain language

How we work

Three jobs on every tour

Answer the call

Fire, rescue, and medical emergencies take the first companies out the door. Dispatch stays on the radio until a unit is on scene.

Keep the tools ready

Hose, saws, monitors, and medicines are checked at the start of the shift. A missed check is a missed tool at two in the morning.

Teach the block

The hours between calls go to alarms, drills, and the questions people bring to the front door of the station.
